Values for ozone and PM2.5 were good Monday and Tuesday. As of 12z Monday, all eyes are on the severe weather complex to our west that will bring unsettled weather to Southern Indiana today into early Thursday. Temperatures Wednesday are forecast to be in the mid to upper 80's with mostly sunny conditions early. Chances for showers and storms move in this evening with a cold front and strong surface low. Winds are forecast to be from the SW 10-20 MPH with gusts borderline wind advisory criteria for SE Indiana and SW Indiana is under a wind advisory for SW winds 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 45 MPH expected. Dewpoints are forecast to increase to the low 70's this afternoon ahead of rain chances. With the amount of moisture present, heavy rainfall is expected. Scattered showers and storms are possible early Thursday with clearing throughout the day as the front continues to drop south. Winds will still be strong SW 5-15 with gusts up to 25 MPH. Later Thursday into Friday high pressure builds in with mostly sunny conditions expected. At this point temperatures and dewpoints are forecast to be lower with temperatures close to 80 and the dewpoints in the 50's to 60's with winds from the NW 0-10 MPH. The NOAA 06Z BC model for PM2.5 forecasts good for the entire forecast period. The Canadian model for PM2.5 agrees. I have no reason to disagree given the active weather pattern, strong winds, heavy rainfall, changing air masses/flow, and generally low RH after today. The NOAA 06Z BC model for ozone predicts good ozone Wednesday through Friday and the Canadian model agrees. I have no reason to disagree with model guidance. Mixing heights are forecast to be around 6,000 ft. Wednesday and 5,300 ft. Thursday
