Central Regions: Ozone was Good Fri-Sun this past period, and PM2.5 was a mixture of Good/Moderate yesterday, and Good on Saturday/Friday. As of 12Z this morning, widespread showers and thunderstorms are moving across southern Indiana with some widely scattered showers over central. This activity will continue to drop south over the state and out of central/southern Indiana by later this afternoon as a cold front drops south of the state. Temperatures the next two days will be much cooler in the lower 80's. Dew points will start off in the lower 70's today and drop into the mid 60's by tomorrow (Tuesday). Northwest winds are expected today around 10 mph with mixing heights this afternoon (and also tomorrow afternoon) of 4200 ft. Patchy fog can be expected tomorrow morning before 9am, then expect sunny skies with winds out of the southwest around 5 mph. The next best chance for rain will come Tuesday night through Wednesday. Looking at likely rain showers with chances of storms for Wednesday with highs around 80 and dew points around 70 with mixing heights of 3500 ft. Precipitable water values are on the low end for the event and are accounting for about a tenth of an inch of rain with higher amounts in thunderstorms. The Canadian model is predicting Good for today and mostly Good for tomorrow/Wednesday for Ozone. The 06Z BC NOAA model is predicting Good as well, for today and tomorrow/Wednesday and see no reason to stray from this guidance based on persistence and the forecast, and the fact that the area was somewhat cleaned out a bit. As for PM2.5, the NOAA model is predicting mostly Good, except for one Moderate tomorrow at Indianapolis which is possible. This model has been performing as expected so will continue to lean toward it and go with mostly Good through Wednesday.
