Ozone was good across the region yesterday, while PM2.5 was mostly good with a couple of low moderate observations. Temperatures today will reach the low 80's at the warmest. Skies will be mostly clear throughout the day and dewpoints will stay in the 60's. Winds will be primarily from the north, while wind speeds stay below 10 mph, and mixing heights will rise as high as 5000 ft. Tomorrow will bring similar conditions; temperatures will reach the mid 80's, dewpoints will be in the 60's, and cloud cover will be scattered. Wind direction will become varied as wind speeds drop to around 5 mph and as mixing heights once again rise to around 5000 ft. The next chance of rain will not arrive until Thursday. The Canadian model shows all good PM2.5 throughout the period while the NOAA 6Z BC model shows good today and a mix of good and moderate tomorrow. The NOAA 6Z BC model is more consistent with expected conditions; as winds slow down, moderate PM2.5 buildup will become more likely. The Canadian ozone model shows good ozone today and mostly moderate tomorrow, with levels reaching the USG range around Lake Michigan. The NOAA 6Z BC model also shows good today and then a range of values tomorrow, with good in a significant portion of the state and USG near the lake. With another day in a row of mostly clear skies and warm temperatures, as well as the decreasing wind speeds, an increase in ozone values is expected. USG level ozone will be possible near the lake shore given the buildup of pollutants over the lake and the light and varied winds.
