January 6 – January 10: This week a high-pressure system continues to bring dry conditions with temperatures a bit above normal for this time of year. Coastal temperatures will range from the low-40’s to mid-60’s, and inland temperatures from the mid-30’s to low-70’s. Calm conditions reduce smoke dispersal from woodstoves, especially in the San Lorenzo Valley, and may degrade air quality for PM2.5 (smoke) to MODERATE, but generally expect GOOD air quality for PM2.5. Cool temperatures will keep afternoon ozone levels below State standards and thus air quality for ozone will be GOOD. Residual soil moisture will keep AQIs for PM10 (dust) GOOD.
