OZONE - 21 Good
Enjoy your outdoor activities.
November 3 – November 9: Beginning Monday, there is a high-pressure system building in the Pacific Northwest and a low-pressure system in the Desert Southwest, known as a Rex block. This combination creates northerly/offshore winds on our Central Coast: expect 20-30 mph winds and gusts up to 50 mph in the higher elevations this week. The resulting dry fuels create a RED FLAG WARNING at higher elevations from 11 am Tuesday through 7 am Thursday. Fire weather concerns diminish into the weekend. Temperatures this week will range from the high-40s to low-70s at the coast and from the high-30s to high-70s inland. Relatively cool temperatures will keep afternoon ozone levels below State standards and thus air quality for ozone will be GOOD. Windy conditions will bring GOOD AQIs for PM2.5 (smoke). AQIs for PM10 (dust) should be GOOD but may reach MODERATE in south Monterey County during windy conditions.
