Friday, as an upper-level trough of low pressure passes through the Pacific Northwest, atmospheric mixing will improve slightly over the Sacramento region. However, sunny skies and temperatures near 100F will continue to support ozone formation, and light onshore winds through most of the day will inhibit pollutant dispersion. As a result, ozone levels will be high-Moderate. Saturday and Sunday, sunny and hot conditions will continue to enhance ozone production through the Sacramento Valley. However, as surface high pressure moves across the Pacific Northwest, light to moderate north-northwesterly winds will develop in the Sacramento region, dispersing pollutants and leading to mid-Moderate ozone levels on both days.
